PM: Belarus-Russia’s Irkutsk Oblast trade is on the rise
MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) — The trade between Belarus and Russia’s Irkutsk Oblast has increased over the past two months, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during his visit to Irkutsk, BelTA has learned.
According to Roman Golovchenko, two and a half years have passed since the Irkutsk Oblast leadership visited Minsk. This visit contributed to the development of trade and economic relations between Irkutsk Oblast and Belarus. “Today, thanks to your invitation, we have an opportunity to discuss both the results of the agreements and new promising projects that are on our bilateral agenda. It should be noted that during this time the external conditions have changed considerably. As you know, Belarus and Russia are facing large-scale external pressure, so mutual support is more important than ever,” Roman Golovchenko said.
According to the prime minister, the trade in the first two months of this year showed an increase of about 6%. “Everything is in our hands here. It is necessary to make all possible joint efforts to ensure sustainable and positive dynamics of mutual trade throughout the year,” he stressed.
