MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) — Belarusian and Chinese MPs actively cooperate in international parliamentary organizations, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Rusakovich said at the roundtable to discuss “A unique path to success for all: China’s Global Civilization Initiative” on 27 April, BelTA has learned.
«The MPs of the two countries share approaches to solving the most pressing problems of international relations, support each other in international structures, and promote joint projects,» Andrei Rusakovich said. “For example, a big topic for joint work in international organizations is the promotion of initiatives in the field of information security. Thus, the Belarusian side is promoting a draft resolution on international information security and a digital good-neighborliness belt initiative. This approach is in line with the Global Initiative on Data Security proposed by China.»
«There are new initiatives in terms of inter-parliamentary cooperation,» he noted. “For example, in April 2022, a seminar of women parliamentarians was held under the leadership of the Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova and Vice-Chairwoman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee Shen Yueyue. It focused on topical issues related to the role of women parliamentarians in public administration and socio-economic development, strengthening international cooperation, and countering the pandemic.”
