Lukashenko: You’ll have peace, don’t worry

VETKA DISTRICT, 28 April (BelTA) – After a conference with Gomel Oblast officials at premises of the Vetka District Executive Committee Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko talked to local residents, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “We have to do better this year in order to improve the overall life of people in Gomel Oblast. There is space for growth. Well, I thank you for your patience. You are simply great people. I feel how Belarusians are already starting to appreciate life. Particularly here in the south, in Gomel Oblast and Brest Oblast because these regions are now close to the frontline. Give us only peace! You’ll have your peace, don’t worry. The most important thing is that you should calmly work and raise your kids. Don’t you worry.”

The president went on saying: “All kinds of things may happen. But I understand more than you do in order to prevent us from getting involved in this massive massacre. We will use its experience. We are studying it. We are looking for ways to make our army stronger. This is why don’t you worry. I don’t want to fight even more than you do. I have kids, too. And all of you are my kids. I don’t want to have to send you to fight at the frontline. This is why calm down and work calmly. Nobody is going to attack us. Including Ukrainians. And the Westerners I meet with tell me that neither Ukrainians nor Poles intend to go to Belarus. Well, they may have no intensions like that. But we have to be ready for everything. This is why raise kids. Preferably as many as you can.”
