Lukashenko visits Church of Transfiguration in Vetka

VETKA DISTRICT, 28 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko lit a candle in the Church of Transfiguration of Jesus in Vetka on 28 April, BelTA has learned.

Near the temple, the president laid flowers at the memorial sign for the settlements that ceased to exist as a result of the Chernobyl tragedy.

The head of state was presented with the Mother of God of the Victims of Chernobyl Icon. The same icon is kept in the church Aleksandr Lukashenko visited on 28 April.
