Lukashenko: Belarus is ready to produce parts for Russian aircraft
MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) — Belarus is ready to establish the production of components for Russian aircraft, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the head of Russia’s Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Minsk on 13 April, BelTA has learned.
Kazan Aviation Plant has resumed the mass production of the Tu-214 passenger aircraft. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus, that has retained the necessary competencies and production facilities, is ready to produce a number of parts. This matter was also discussed by the presidents of the two countries.
«Today we produce almost half a thousand parts for Russian aircraft,» the president said.
As BelTA has reported earlier, Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No.407 and Kazan Aviation Plant intend to sign a roadmap on making components for Tu-214 aircraft. “Kazan Aviation Plant intends to increase the output of Tu-214 aircraft from about five per annum to 70 by 2030. Belarusian enterprises are expected to help make components for Kazan Aviation Plant to use,” Viktor Shchetko, the head of the Kazan Office of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, said in the recent episode of BelTA’s YouTube project After the Fact: Lukashenko’s Decisions.
