Digital economy viewed as important for Eurasian Economic Union
MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) — Digital economy is important for the development of the single economic space of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said as he opened the fifth edition of the Eurasian Digital Forum on the sidelines of the TIBO 2023 international forum, BelTA has learned.
According to Igor Petrishenko, the Eurasian Digital Forum has become a good tradition of TIBO and an integral important part of its program. It brings together representatives of the professional communities of the EAEU member states and the entire region. “Digital economy is very important for promoting the single economic space of the EAEU and closer cooperation between its participants, which has been repeatedly noted by the heads of state of the EAEU member states,» the deputy prime minister said.
It is no coincidence that Belarus is once again becoming a platform for developing common approaches to the digital agenda, he stressed. «The head of state has identified digitalization as one of the present-day priorities for our country. The government is taking measures to digitally transform the public administration system and the economy, introduce domestic software products at enterprises and new mechanisms for financial support for digital development processes,» Igor Petrishenko said.
To accelerate the processes of digitalization, Belarus has set up the center for digital development and the center for advanced studies in digital development.
Igor Petrishenko recalled that on 12 April of this year, the president signed a decree to create the conditions for the strategic development of the Hi-Tech Park.
