Belarusian singers join 1,000 Trees of Memory campaign in Khatyn
MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) – Belarusian famous singers are gathering in the Khatyn Memorial Complex to take part in the 1,000 Trees of Memory campaign, BelTA has learned.
During the nationwide subbotnik (voluntary labor day) the head of state invited Belarusians to make their contribution to the improvement of the Khatyn Memorial Complex. Cultural workers, including Belarusian honored artists, were the first to support the proposal of Aleksandr Lukashenko.
About 1,000 fir trees will be planted in Khatyn. Young trees have already been prepared to be planted in Khatyn. Taking part in the campaign are Alexander Solodukha, Ruslan Alekhno, Irina Dorofeeva, Victoria Aleshko, the art group Belarusy, and also the musical groups Skynet, By City, Aura and many others.
Representatives of the Belarus President Administration, the Council of Ministers, the Culture Ministry and public associations are also set to take part in the 1,000 Trees for Khatyn event.
