Belarusian MAZ to ship over 100 trolleybuses to Russian Novosibirsk by year-end
Vladimir Dormash
MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile manufacturer MAZ will ship over 100 trolleybuses to Novosibirsk. Vladimir Dormash, Deputy Commercial Director for Passenger Vehicles Sales, Head of the Passenger Vehicles Sales Office at Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), mentioned it during a working trip of the Belarusian government delegation to the Russian city of Novosibirsk, BelTA has learned.
According to Vladimir Dormash, MAZ always sets ambitious goals and intends to maximize its presence on the market of any region the Belarusian company cooperates with. “In addition to nine trolleybuses Gorozhanin based on our assembly kits MAZ will ship another 120 units of equipment to Novosibirsk this year. We’ve already started making them. The factory will ship the first few batches in May. The delivery of the new trolleybuses to Novosibirsk will begin at some point in June. As many as 120 trolleybuses are supposed to arrive by the end of the year. We expect the city to buy another 49 vehicles. Our trolleybuses are already represented in streets of the city. They are known,” he noted.
The first MAZ buses were delivered to Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast in the late 1990s, Vladimir Dormash said. “It is more difficult to hold onto the market because everything keeps changing. Russian manufacturers, which are supported by the state, are not idle either. Nevertheless, everyone knows our vehicle bodies and design. The MAZ brand will stay on the market,” he concluded.
