MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus-Russia interaction in military-nuclear sphere proceeds strictly within borders of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.
When asked whether Russia is contemplating the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in friendly countries other than Belarus, Maria Zakharova said: “As far as the interaction of Russia and Belarus in military-nuclear sphere is concerned, it proceeds strictly within borders of the Union State, which territory makes up the common defense space. And we reserve the right to take all the necessary steps to ensure the security of both Russia and the Union State. It makes no sense to speculate about the possible nature of potential additional countermeasures: all of it will carefully match the evolution of the threats that the United States of America and NATO generate for us.”
