Belarus, Kazakhstan discuss preparations for 2nd CIS Games

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk paid a working visit to Kazakhstan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry.
Sergei Kovalchuk met with Kazakhstan Minister of Culture and Sports Askhat Oralov. The parties touched upon issues of import substitution. Askhat Oralov stressed that Kazakhstan was ready to take part in the 2nd CIS Games. The meeting also featured a presentation of Belarusian sports gear and equipment. Director of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Sports Irina Malevanaya gave a review of medical and scientific support in sports.
The day before Sergei Kovalchuk visited a number of sports facilities in Astana: Alau ice palace, the multifunctional ice palace Barys Arena and the track and field complex Kazakhstan. The minister also visited the Palace of Martial Arts and the ongoing Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship.
